The 47 short films in this year's festival take us on a journey around the globe, from China to Australia, Chile to Canada, Japan to Ukraine, and everywhere in between.

These films delve into some of the most profound and universal human experiences: the bonds between parents and children, the dynamics between partners facing a crossroads (or a crossword puzzle), the pain of losing one’s homeland to conflict or persecution, and the transformative power of music, photography, and artistic expression in overcoming trauma, illness, and oppression, or simply to bring joy into the world. They also celebrate the resilience of individuals who remain steadfast in their purpose or convictions despite unimaginable adversity. These short films are grand in their ideas, expressed in concise forms.
