/Program

The 2026 program will be announced on May 6.

The 2026 DC/DOX program will present approximately 100 films — features and shorts from around the world — showcasing the urgency, artistry, and global scope of contemporary documentary cinema.

The lineup will include major premieres, award-winning festival standouts, acclaimed filmmakers, and bold new voices. Spanning intimate personal stories, formally inventive works, character-driven narratives, and rigorous investigative reporting, the films engage directly with the civic, cultural, and political currents of our time.

Screenings will be accompanied by filmmaker Q&As and moderated conversations with leading journalists, cultural commentators, and policy experts, connecting documentary storytelling to the public life of Washington, DC.

The 2026 program will also feature:

DC/FRAME — a dedicated section spotlighting DC-based filmmakers and stories rooted in the local creative community.

Reality Check Forum — our industry platform exploring the evolving craft, ethics, and impact of documentary filmmaking through panels, workshops, and masterclasses.
