Katy Chevigny is an award-winning filmmaker and co-founder of Big Mouth Productions. She has produced and directed more than a dozen documentary features and series.
Her latest feature, THE EASY KIND, follows a Nashville singer-songwriter. Most recently, she won an Emmy Award for directing two episodes of HOME, the A24 and Apple TV+ documentary series about innovative architecture, filmed in the Netherlands and France.
With Marilyn Ness, Chevigny produced CAMP COURAGE (dir. Max Lowe), a 2023 documentary short acquired by Netflix, as well as the acclaimed documentaries BECOMING (dir. Nadia Hallgren) and DICK JOHNSON IS DEAD (dir. Kirsten Johnson). She also co-directed (with Ross Kauffman) E-TEAM, which premiered at the 2014 Sundance Film Festival, and directed one of the storylines in Kartemquin Films’ HARD EARNED, winner of a 2016 Alfred I. duPont Award.
Her work has been distributed by PBS, NBC, Netflix, Apple TV+, HBO, Arte/ZDF, VPRO, and Channel 4, and has screened in theaters and at film festivals around the world.
