Ian is a queer and transgender filmmaker and activist making social impact through creative storytelling. They are best known for their “cause”-play – carefully crafted stunts which span from photobombing CEOs in Congressional hearings dressed as the Monopoly Man to shaming Trump’s DHS Secretary out of a restaurant over their child separation policy. Ian’s work has been profiled in the New York Times, Washington Post, Vice News, the Today Show, Fox News, and NPR. Now based in Baltimore, Ian was honored with a Rubys Artist grant from the Robert W. Deutsch Foundation in 2024, the Greenlining Institute’s prestigious Torchbearer Award in 2023, a fellowship with the Saul Zaentz Innovation Fund at Johns Hopkins University in 2022, and the Recent Alumni Award from UCLA Law’s Public Interest program in 2019. They are currently in production on their first documentary feature, A Man (Duh).
