Amber Capone is a bold changemaker and nationally recognized advocate for veteran mental health and family resiliency. As Co-Founder and CEO of Veterans Exploring Treatment Solutions (VETS), she has built a globally respected nonprofit that pioneers access to psychedelic-assisted therapies for veterans suffering from PTSD and traumatic brain injury.
After supporting her husband Marcus’s 13-year career as a U.S. Navy SEAL, Amber confronted firsthand the challenges of post-military transition—an experience that became the catalyst for her mission. In 2019, the couple founded VETS, transforming a grassroots movement into a high-impact organization with a $ 5M+ annual budget and Charity Navigator’s 100% rating as one of the top four nonprofits out of 225,000 nationwide.
Under Amber’s visionary leadership, VETS has raised more than $15 million, funded treatment grants for 1,000+ veterans, and played a leading role in legislative victories across the country. These include Texas House Bill 1802, H.R. 3684 (Douglas Mike Day Act), Section 723 of the NDAA 2024, and California Assembly Bill 2841. She also played a pivotal role in spearheading the Texas Ibogaine Initiative and chairs the VALOR Coalition, a national alliance of veteran organizations driving systemic change.
Amber’s work is not only pioneering—it’s redefining the future of veteran care. Her relentless commitment, strategic foresight, and ability to unite stakeholders across sectors have positioned her as a leading voice in the national conversation on mental health innovation.
Named to Inc.’s 2025 Female Founders 500 and recently nominated as a fellow at The Institute, a premier philanthropic collective focused on advancing human progress, Amber continues to lead with heart, integrity, and impact.
She splits her time between Dallas and San Diego with her husband, Marcus, and enjoys time with their two adult children.
