In May 2022, farm worker and single mother Angeli Rose Gomez ran into Robb Elementary School in Uvalde, Texas, to save her two sons during a mass shooting—while nearly 400 armed officers waited 77 minutes to intervene. When video of her rescue goes viral, Angeli becomes a powerful voice demanding accountability for law enforcement’s shocking inaction. As she speaks out, she faces harassment from authorities, with her turbulent past making her especially vulnerable. As her story unfolds, the Uvalde community rallies for justice and change, even as conflicting narratives from officials emerge and the U.S. Department of Justice launches an investigation.
