In 2025, the town of Altadena, near Los Angeles, was devastated by the Eaton Fire, which destroyed more than 10,000 homes and buildings and contaminated those that remained with toxic ash. Shot on 16mm film, STILL STANDING documents the transformation of intimate spaces into an alien, hazardous landscape, following residents as they confront an impossible choice: protect their health or return home.

Co-director, Still Standing

Victor is a Japanese American and Spanish filmmaker based in Los Angeles. His work often explores the impact of wildfires and environmental crises. He was the cinematographer for HARVEST SEASON (2018), about Latino farmworkers and the 2017 Napa fires, and HURRICANE OF FIRE (2020), part of The New York Times Presents, on the historic Australian bushfires, where he met his wife and co-director, Livia.
