El Bosque is disappearing. This small fishing village on the coast of Tabasco, Mexico, has been slowly swallowed by the sea. For years, Guadalupe Cobos—a fisher and activist—has led her community in a determined effort to be heard and to secure relocation before the ocean takes what little remains.

LA MAR follows her over the course of a year, as families continue to live, fish, and celebrate among the ruins. When long-awaited approval finally arrives, it brings both relief and heartbreak.

This is a story of memory, resistance, and the painful contradiction of fighting to leave while never wanting to go.
