James Paul Dallas is a Toronto-born writer, director, and producer working across documentary and fiction. His short CLEAN ME premiered at the 2024 New/Next Film Festival. He is the co-writer of the HBO drama REALITY (2023), a Peabody Award winner.

His producing credits include the documentaries INVISIBLE BEAUTY (Magnolia Pictures) and HALSTON (CNN Films), both of which premiered at Sundance, as well as THE PLAGIARISTS, a New York Times Critics’ Pick. His writing on film has appeared in Artforum, BOMB, IndieWire, and The Village Voice, among other publications. He is a 2025 MacDowell Fellow.
