A young married couple in a Chinese megacity navigates the subtle pressures of tradition as they surface within their most intimate exchanges. The film raises questions about identity and self-actualization for young adults today.

Director, At the Stage When

Hao Zhou is a filmmaker from southwest China whose work explores queer and feminist themes. Their films include CORRECT ME IF I’M WRONG (2025), WOULDN’T MAKE IT ANY OTHER WAY (2024), and several others. Zhou’s work has screened at major international festivals including Berlin, Locarno, and Rotterdam, and has received jury prizes at BlackStar, Zinebi, the Hamptons International Film Festival, and beyond.
