Avid male knitting enthusiast Gene Throwe keeps the spirit of his late grandmother alive, defying gender stereotypes and finding purpose and deep connection through the seemingly mundane practice of needlework. His story unfolds alongside a documentation of the yarn-making process, culminating in a baptismal moment that mirrors Gene’s spiritual journey and search for hope.
Ian is a filmmaker, drone pilot, sound recordist and mixer, and sound designer. He has a BA in Film & Media Arts and Audio Production from American University. Ian has experience working on a variety of unique and engaging projects, with a focus on social and environmental filmmaking.
