The 2025 Signature Films spotlight fearless truth-tellers confronting power and inequality: Amy Goodman’s trailblazing career in independent journalism; a searing exposé of decades of deception behind the Afghanistan War; incarcerated men exposing deadly abuses behind prison walls; and Sarah McBride’s groundbreaking run for Congress as the first openly transgender member. These four films anchor the festival, illuminating the urgent stories and remarkable people shaping our world today.
Taking place June 12–15, DC/DOX 2025 presents 94 films celebrating the best in documentary storytelling. Featuring both features and shorts, the lineup highlights a diverse range of topics and aesthetic approaches from filmmakers around the world. Complementing the screenings, the Reality Check Forum offers an inspiring space for dialogue and collaboration through a dynamic lineup of panels, workshops, and masterclasses.
